In-Kind and Development Coordinator


Job Description:

The Child Abuse Prevention Center is currently seeking an In-Kind and Development Coordinator to organize the Adopt-A-Family (AAF) program. This program is designed to link agency caseworkers with private organizations, faith based organizations or civic groups to coordinate the donation of children’s clothing, cribs, baby necessities, household items, or gift cards such as furniture and appliances to aid in agency’s effort in breaking the cycle of abuse.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide informational presentations to potential and existing organizations to increase program participation in Adopt-A-Family.
  • Conduct introductory meetings between new caseworkers and their adopting organizations, providing guidance and training in roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain existing Adopt-A-Family matches through face to face meetings and either regular phone or e-mail contact, requesting monthly donation reports.
  • Plan and/or assist with coordination of annual agency events and campaigns (i.e., Back to School Picnic, Families Helping Families, Volunteer Recognition Dinner and Intern luncheon).
  • Facilitate the match between caseworkers with private organizations, faith based organizations and civic groups.
  • Maintain a database for Adopt-A-Family goods and donations.
  • Coordination of delivery and pick-up of donated goods.
  • Write and mail thank you letters to donors weekly.
  • Supervise the Adopt-A-Family Assistant and volunteers.
  • Oversee the recruitment of volunteers for agency and agency sponsored events.
  • Utilize Donor Perfect, as a program management and reporting tool.
  • Maintain hard copy files on all participation of CAPC staff, ensuring documentation of ongoing communications.
  • Compile monthly statistical reports.
  • Provide public speaking to organizations.

Skills / Knowledge Required:

  • BA degree in a human services related field or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and Access.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written) necessary in order to communicate diplomatically and effectively with volunteers, donors, colleagues and staff. Ability to communicate information with courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
