Basic Needs: This volunteer position serves in our warehouse and is responsible for checking in donations, stocking shelves, inventory counting, assembling food packs, sorting and matching donated clothing, linens, food, formula, diapers etc.  All volunteers must be in comfortable clothing and must wear closed toed comfortable shoes. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers must complete an application and receive confirmation and approval prior to the start of any volunteer hours through the Basic Needs Warehouse and the Child Abuse Prevention Center.  The Warehouse is open Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Fundraise for Our Cause: Also known as micro-fundraising, individuals will raise money through their own individual fundraising efforts such as running a Marathon, hosting a cocktail party or a car wash.  Individuals volunteer their time and solicit donations from family, friends and/or colleagues to support the Prevention Center and our cause.

Annual Event Committees: Volunteers assist in planning one or more of the Prevention Center’s major annual fundraising events. Individual event committees meet regularly to plan the event, secure auction items, solicit corporate sponsorships, sell program ad space, tickets, organize volunteers and more!

Monitored Visitation:  Volunteers 21+ accompany trained caseworker specialists to their monitored visits, held between parents and their noncustodial children.  Volunteers observe interactions between family members and help monitor and maintain safety during visits.

Donation Drive: Students, groups or businesses interested in doing a one-time project to help the Prevention Center can spearhead the collection of much needed items.  Examples include: Diaper Drive, Backpack Drive or School Supplies Drive.

  • We are located in the Union Bank of California Building on the 11th floor
  • Starting from LA County: Take the I-5 South toward Santa Ana. Take Exit 107A for CA 22E toward Bristol/La Veta. Keep right at the fork and follow signs for Bristol St/La Veta Ave. Turn right onto West La Veta Ave and drive to arrive at the corner of Main St. and La Veta.
  • Starting from South Orange County. Take the I-5 North. Take exit 106 for CA 22W toward Long Beach. Keep right at the fork and follow signs for Bristol St/La Veta Ave. Turn right onto West La Veta Ave and drive to arrive at the corner of Main St. and La Veta.
  • AMCO Parking garage adjacent- $11.25 for all day pass
