CWLA is an association of more than 1,100 public and private nonprofit agencies offering a wide range of services that assist more than 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year.
Children Now
Children Now is a research and action organization dedicated to assuring that children grow up in economically secure families, where parents can go to work confident that their children are supported by quality health coverage, a positive media environment, a good early education, and safe, productive things to do after school. Children Now designs its strategies to improve children's lives while at the same time helping America build a sustained commitment to putting children first. Recognized for its expertise in using media as a tool for change, Children Now is an independent, nonpartisan organization.
Children's Defense Fund
The mission of the Children's Defense Fund is to Leave No Child Behind® and to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life, including a successful passage to adulthood, with the help of caring families and communities.
Kempe Center
The KEMPE Children's Center was begun in 1972 to provide a clinically-based resource for training, consultation, program development and evaluation, and research in all forms of child abuse and neglect.
National Center on Missing and Exploited Children
NCMEC serves as a focal point in providing assistance to parents, children, law enforcement, schools, and the community in recovering missing children and raising public awareness about ways to help prevent child abduction, molestation, and sexual exploitation.
National Children's Coalition
NCC was established to advocate for a more substantial and urgent effort to stem the growing crisis among our children: the epidemic child abuse, alarming suicide rate among teens, violence directed at and even by children, AIDS, runaways, domestic violence, latchkey children, and lack of adequate activities and opportunities for youth, particularly in cities.
National Clearinghouse of Child Abuse and Neglect Information
The Clearinghouse is a national resource for professionals and others seeking information on child abuse and neglect, as well as child welfare.
Prevent Child Abuse America
Since 1972, Prevent Child Abuse America has led the way in building awareness, providing education and inspiring hope to everyone involved in the effort to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children.
Shaken Baby Alliance
The mission of the Shaken Baby Alliance is to provide support for Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) victim families (including adoptive and foster parents), advocate for justice for SBS victims, and increase SBS awareness. The Alliance seeks to work collaboratively with all agencies and professionals in a community effort.
