Disneyland Resort “Outstanding” Community Service Award

The Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center was recognized as the most outstanding program in 2004 among 30 Orange County charities honored by Disneyland Resort’s 47th annual Community Service Awards. The Prevention Center received an exciting surprise visit from Disney executives as well as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, where Executive Director Kathy McCarrell accepted the grand prize of $50,000. The award funds are supporting the Prevention Center’s efforts to eliminate waiting lists in all child abuse and teen pregnancy prevention programs by increasing service capabilities. Orange County Business Journal "Women In Business" Award

The Orange County Business Journal selected Center executive director Kathy McCarrell as one of five recipients of its annual "Women In Business" Award in 2002. McCarrell competed with 90 candidates for the award, which recognizes the professional achievement and community service contributions of Orange County's female executives.
