Primary: The primary role of the Program Supervisor is to maintain the internal operations of the assigned program. The Program Supervisor reports directly to the Chief Program Officer.
Secondary: Up to half time, engage in Casework Specialist duties providing in-home parent education and community linkage.
- Maintain the CalWORKS Home Visiting Initiative (HVI) program to fulfill all requirements and meet all contractual obligations set by First Five OC, OC SSA, and the agency.
- Build and maintain partnerships with SSA, Maternal Child Health Network and community partners.
- Manage ongoing program development activities for the CalWORKS HVI program.
- Meet goals for opening/closing cases as defined by milestones provided by Chief Program Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Program Administration
¨ Facilitate case reviews, staff training and staff meetings
¨ Assist in the development of new projects
¨ Maintain and monitor existing prevention programs
¨ Approve employee timesheets and monthly expense reports
¨ Provide program development around evaluation, training and services
¨ Review and assign incoming referrals
· Supervision and Management
¨ Directly responsible for the supervision of assigned programs and program staff including Casework Specialists and Administrative Assistant
¨ Conduct individual supervision sessions with each program team member weekly
¨ Review program’s progress towards client files and paperwork
¨ Responsible for personnel management, including hiring and termination under the supervision of the Chief Program Officer and Human Resources
¨ Write employee evaluations and conduct annual performance reviews
¨ Review and supervise the filing of child abuse reports
¨ Lead strategically to ensure that program staff are performing at or above expectations
¨ Ensures implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) activities for assigned programs in coordination with the Manager of Program Development and Evaluation.
· Grant/Contract Monitoring
¨ Ensure that contract requirements are being met and staff are complying with all agency and funder requirements.
¨ Responsible for program accountability including implementation and revision of annual program evaluations as needed
¨ Tabulate and track monthly statistics, including submitting stats to First Five OC by the 5th and entering stats into Persimmony by the 15th of the following month of service
¨ Attend Center meetings, trainings, and conferences as necessary
· Casework Specialist Duties
¨ Provide parenting education via the Commission approved KIPS (Keys to Interactive Parenting Scale) curriculum, PIPE (Partners in Parenting Education) activities, and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) curriculum
¨ Respond immediately to newly assigned cases to ensure agency connection
¨ Conduct initial needs assessments
¨ Develop relationships with families that build upon strengths & enhance self-sufficiency
¨ Provide in-home visitations with a focus on parent education, problem solving, and case management
¨ Coordinate with all agencies involved in cases
¨ Provide ongoing observation for elements of abuse and neglect within assigned families
¨ Assist in public education activities as needed (speaking presentations to organizations, parent groups, etc.)
¨ Maintain cases in accordance with First 5 Orange County and Orange County Social Services Agency (SSA) requirements
¨ Track family progress utilizing pre and post standardized KIPS assessment and Triple P assessment tools
¨ Comply with Mandated Reporter requirements
¨ Attend all required meetings
¨ Perform development screenings, home safety checks, oral health education, immunization screenings, and other activities required by the Commission
¨ Participate in the seasonal events/programs benefitting clients
¨ Collaborate with community agencies, universities and other collateral professionals
¨ Represent agency in community relations events
¨ Provide support to staff and clients as needed
¨ Consistently seek and maintain resources for staff and clients
- MSW or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred
