Senior Vice President, Distribution – Fox Networks
Sherry Brennan is a 28 year veteran of the cable television business, starting her career at Falcon Cable TV in Los Angeles in 1989. She’s currently the Senior Vice President, Distribution, for Fox Networks (FN), where she is responsible for negotiating licensing agreements with pay TV distributors, developing multi-platform growth strategies for FN’s video products, exploring potential new business models, and contributing to FN’s long range digital strategy. She also oversees analysis of video consumption trends and the changing value equation in the new multi-platform landscape, works closely with FN’s business development team on new channel ideas and acquisitions, and helps manage the strategy behind Fox’s investment in Hulu. She previously worked at Cablevision in New York, where she managed the company’s pay per view and video on demand businesses, and for Cablevision’s satellite venture “VOOM” as a programming consultant.
Sherry holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Iowa State University. She is a member of WICT, and previously served as Chapter president in both NYC and SoCal and is an alum of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. For the last several years Sherry has been honored as one of Cablefax’s “100 Most Powerful Women in Cable.” Multichannel News also honored her as a member of its “Wonder Women” class in 2012, and Broadcasting & Cable selected her as a “Digital All-Star” in 2014.
In 2015, Sherry received a LEA Award from Southern California WICT, for her work in Leadership, Education and Advocacy within the pay TV industry. In 2016 she was selected for a Genii Award by the American Women in Media for her business acumen, and was also named as 2016’s Woman in Technology, Programmer Category by Multichannel News. She is a frequent public speaker and can be heard often at industry conferences such as TV of Tomorrow and Digital Hollywood.
Sherry often mentors younger women seeking to build their careers in the TV business, and has also spoken to teen audiences about the importance of education and good life decisions in order to escape poverty. In 2015, Sherry began lobbying in Washington DC with several non-profit organizations dedicated to maintaining nutrition assistance programs such as SNAP and free school lunches. In 2016, Sherry participated as an opening session plenary speaker at the annual National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference, where she shared her stories of childhood poverty and use of the social safety network in place during the 1970s. A strong advocate for maintaining pathways for success for people from all walks of life, Sherry welcomes opportunities to support initiatives that help people to help themselves. Sherry lives in Los Angeles with her 12-year old son, Lorenzo De Felitta.
General Counsel, Senior Director – QSC, LLC
Maggie Jenkins is General Counsel for QSC, headquartered in Orange County, CA. Maggie has been with QSC for over 10 years gaining hands-on working experience across the company, including in the sales and marketing departments, which has provided invaluable experience in the real, in-the-trenches operation of the company. Maggie has leveraged these professional opportunities at QSC in her role as its first and sole in-house counsel. While QSC enjoys and strives for double digit annual growth, Maggie has effectively and efficiently managed the Legal Department without requiring personnel expansion. The company’s impressive annual growth, however, brings innumerable legal issues and risks. Maggie consistently looks for and utilizes creative ways to address ongoing and new legal issues, while meeting the business needs and thinking about long-term risk mitigation for QSC worldwide.
Instead of wielding legal threats or scare tactics, Maggie fosters and leverages business relationships across the company by engaging in the business topic first. She does this by learning about and understanding the business goals and the unique needs of the individual team members in each department. Maggie has mastered unique skills (particularly for lawyers) of listening, being approachable, and comfortably engaging co-workers with interpersonal conversation to facilitate the communication process with open dialog, while discretely issue spotting. Attorneys have the legal knowledge, while the business people have the facts. Maggie’s refreshing and nonthreatening approach allows her the “legal-in,” necessary to identify issues, mitigate risk and provide solutions. Her communication style naturally results in formal and informal training, and communication about important legal topics resulting in informed employees and healthy business practices.
Change is a daily reality in a $200 million company with aggressive growth aspirations. Maggie thrives in this environment of change by using it as an opportunity to learn and find innovative, business friendly solutions to different legal challenges. She has built the QSC legal department and facilitated QSC’s growth by using the right balance of her business and legal acumen, interpersonal skills and her client’s business objectives. Maggie demonstrates her diverse skillset as a successful General Counsel for a mid-size and growing technology company and is certainly a rising star in the Orange County business and legal communities.
Operating Principal – Keller Williams
Colleen graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Business Management and a focus in Accounting. Not long after graduation, she moved to Southern California to follow her passion to create a highly successful career in the business world. Within days of arriving in California Colleen had her first day at Keller Williams Realty and never looked back! She has held many positions within the organization in 12 fast years, ranging from office operations management, support analyst for HQ, coach for other office operations managers, to her present positions as Regional Operations Manager of 2 Regions and Franchise owner of 2 offices and equity interest in 4 others. Colleen has a true passion for helping others succeed at the highest levels possible while continuing to grow herself.
Senior Vice President of Finance & Accounting – Real Mex Restaurants
As the Senior Vice President of Finance & Accounting at Real Mex Restaurants, Dessi Sarabosing is leading the transformation of the Company’s financial infrastructure, improving profitability & leading the growth strategy for the organization through Mergers & Acquisitions, organic growth & technology innovations. Ms. Sarabosing joined Real Mex from Taco Bell; Yum! Brands, where she served as the Brand Controller. Responsible for the global Taco Brand and its multiple subsidiaries, Ms. Sarabosing managed the financial infrastructure transformation, restaurant margin improvement initiatives and the digital/online ordering platform.
Prior to that, Ms. Sarabosing was part of the successful turnaround of Arbonne International, where she lead the Company through the emergence out of Bankruptcy and subsequent expansion into Asia leveraging a strategic partnership, innovative brand positioning, profitable business model & relevant product offerings. Prior to Arbonne, Ms. Sarabosing spent 5 years with Ernst & Young in the Attest & Assurance practice, which served clients in the Financial Audit capacity.
Ms. Sarabosing earned her B.S. in Business Administration from Sofia University in Bulgaria. She received an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and her CPA Certification is with the State of California.
Ms. Sarabosing is also the founder of the Professional Women United, a philanthropic and non-profit organization, which is focused on raising the next generation of women leaders.
Ms. Sarabosing was just nominated 2016 CFO of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal.
