12/10 – 12/11/16 – Families Helping Families

It is once again time for our annual Families Helping Families program! This year, 300 desperately needy families need your support to provide for their children this holiday season. By adopting a family or volunteering your time, you are helping a high-risk family obtain basic necessities and keep their kids safe.

To adopt a struggling family, please visit our Families Helping Families adoption site on October 1st, 2016. The link will be posted here, as well as sent out to our email list.

To volunteer at our Families Helping Families event, please read the volunteer descriptions below and register for a shift online on October 1st, 2016.

Friday Night Prep Elves:  Before the magic can happen over the weekend, we need wonderful elves to come and help set up the North Pole on Friday, Dec. 9th. Signs Ups will be posted on October 1st.

Drop-off Day Elves:  These elves will be crucial in the receiving, organizing, and wrapping of gifts in our warehouse on Saturday, Dec. 10th.  This will be a fun day in the North Pole, so wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a smile! Signs Ups will be posted on October 1st.

Delivery Day Elves:  These elves will be hard at work having fun while instructing and organizing reindeer on Sunday, Dec. 11th.  You will be responsible for helping to get these gifts out to their families! Signs Ups will be posted on October 1st.

Sunday Reindeer:  Reindeer are the means by which a gift travels from the North Pole tothe families waiting at home.  A reindeer driver must be over 21, with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.  You may bring as many people as can fit in your car with you on Sunday, Dec. 11th for deliveries, but please only sign up for each CAR that you will be driving.  The bigger the car, the better, to fit more gifts and bring more smiles to our needy kids and families. Reindeer Signs Ups will be posted on October 1st.

Monday Reindeer: Reindeer on Monday, Dec. 12th will be most important in delivering gifts to families who were not available, or didn’t receive their gifts for some reason.  A reindeer driver must be over 21, with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.  You may bring as many people as can fit in your car with you on Dec. 12th for deliveries, but please only sign up for each CAR you will be driving. Reindeer Signs Ups will be posted on October 1st.

Our volunteers are truly the backbone of our Families Helping Families event! Your generosity and volunteer support are vital to accomplishing the goal of serving 300 of our desperately needy families. Thank you for all you do!
