Outreach and Engagement Mental Health Educator

The Child Abuse Prevention Center is seeking a temporary modified full-time, bilingual Spanish, Mental Health Educator for its Community Outreach and Engagement Program.  This program is designed to promote mental health wellness and prevent mental illness in unserved and underserved Orange County communities, such as the Latino community, by raising community awareness and increasing knowledge about mental health issues, reducing psychosocial risk factors and strengthening protective factors, addressing concerns, and promoting access to available community resources.

Duties: 1) Provide immediate intervention, case management and community resource referrals and linkages to children, teens and their parents; 2) Main point of contact for volunteer specialist and linkage with clients; 3) Provides support and resources to Outreach and Engagement Specialists and Educators; 4) Conducts mental health/mental illness awareness, knowledge, and skills building presentations and Support Groups in schools and other locations serving children, teens, and their parents;

Minimum Qualifications include

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/social services related field
  • 2+ years of experience in the delivery of mental health/social service programs including case management preferred
  • experience with community outreach preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish required
