The Child Abuse Prevention Center is seeking one part-time bilingual Cambodian/Khmer Specialist for its Community Outreach and Engagement Program. This program is designed to promote mental health wellness and prevent mental illness of children, teens and adults in unserved and underserved Orange County communities by raising community awareness and increasing knowledge about mental health issues, reducing psychosocial risk factors and strengthening protective factors, addressing concerns, and promoting access to available community resources.
Duties include but are not limited to: distributes mental health/mental illness flyers, brochures, community resource information, and other materials to children, teens, their parents, and adults; organizations serving children, teens, or their parents at community educational classes, gatherings, events, and groups; recruits mental health services consumers and other volunteers to help expand the mental health/mental illness awareness message; and assists other staff with presentations, crisis intervention, community resource referrals and linkages, and short-term case management as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in social service or mental health field preferred
- Bilingual Cambodian/Khmer required
- Valid California Driver’s License required
- Live Scan fingerprinting required
