Senior Mental Health Educator – Outreach & Engagement Program

The Child Abuse Prevention Center in Orange is seeking a full-time bilingual Spanish/Vietnamese Senior Mental Health Educator for its Outreach and Engagement Program.  This program is designed to promote mental health wellness and prevent mental illness in unserved and underserved Orange County communities, such as the Latino and Vietnamese communities, by raising community awareness and increasing knowledge about mental health issues, reducing psychosocial risk factors and strengthening protective factors, addressing concerns, and promoting access to available community resources.

Duties include but are not limited to: 1) Provide immediate intervention, case management and community resource referrals and linkages to participants; 2) Conducts mental health/mental illness awareness, knowledge, and skills building presentations and Support Groups in community locations or schools and other locations serving all age participants;  3) Provides supervision to assigned direct service staff; 4) Performance management of assigned staff in coordination with Program Director; 5) Updates curricula and leads weekly review on education classes and case management; 6) Oversees schedule of events and community outreach opportunities;

Minimum Qualifications include

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/social services related field
  • 2+ years of experience in the delivery of mental health/social service programs including case management preferred
  • experience with community outreach preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese preferred
