A recent study by USC and UC Berkeley confirms what many social workers and children’s charities have long suspected: that teen mothers who were abused are more likely to pass on abusive behaviors to their children.
An L.A. Times article from November 12th shares the details of the report. Programs like our Infant program and Teen Voices, Teen Choices program work with teen moms to break the cycle of abuse. The education and support these programs provide are vital in helping teen moms replace negative parenting patterns with healthy behaviors. We are grateful that this research can help us become more effective in our work throughout the community
